Bagua - The nine areas of life and themes in Feng Shui

Like the 8 cardinal points, the Bagua consists of 8 zones and the center, the so-called Tai Chi. It is also called 3 doors Bagua in Feng Shui and is used to determine the flow of energy in the house, apartment or garden.

The word Bagua comes from the Chinese word "Ba", which means the number 8, and "gua", which stands for trigram. Symbols from the ancient Chinese I Ching (Book of Changes) are assigned to the 8 trigrams.

Each of these 8 zones is assigned certain life themes, so each area in the house, apartment or garden has a special meaning or effect. You can even divide every single room, right down to the desk, according to this principle.

The 8 zones are the life themes of wealth, fame, partnership, family, children, knowledge, career, helpful friends and the center / Thai Chi.

Also A staircase in this area could indicate an eventful life with ups and downs. Work with earth colors and horizontal shapes in this zone.

The Bagua is used in such a way that the baseline with the 3 areas Knowledge / Career / Helpful Friends are laid out at the front door. This is basically the area where you first enter your living area. This means that the Fame area is always exactly opposite the entrance door, regardless of which one direction he is actually located. And here this method differs from the possibility of working with the 8 cardinal directions.

The 8 cardinal directions

I In my Feng Shui consultations, however, I do not work with the Bagua, but with the 8 cardinal directions. For this I use my special compass, the so-called Lo Pan. The Working with the Lo Pan or the 8 cardinal directions is a much more precise method. The floor plan is precisely measured using various measuring points such as the site or front door.

The respective areas can be determined exactly and more precise statements can therefore be made.

Bagua

If an area is not present in the floor plan of your house, apartment or garden, it is referred to as a missing area (marked in red in the picture). Since each direction is assigned a specific topic, initial conclusions can be drawn about problems faced by the residents or employees/company, which then need to be addressed after the consultation.
